Video Script

Hello viewers. My name is Prossy Namande. I am an activist for both the food security and climate change activities in Uganda. I am the founder of Seeds For Uganda and we are right now in Mukono District in Kisomesa zone. We normally train the local people how to set up small gardens like this one . We give them seeds to do this and we also train them how to reuse the plastic bottles to set up plastic bottle fences like this one so that they can protect their crops from not being fed on by chickens and goats from the neighboring communities.

In the rural areas we train the local people how to set up high raised gardens, rain harvest tanks and forest gardens. Here we are going to be showing you more of the gardens In the other communities

Impact Highlights

During the 90-day challenge, the Seeds for Uganda Development team:

  • Started seven small gardens, with plastic-bottle wall enclosures.

  • Built 90 high raised gardens with turmeric and vegetables.

  • Gave vegetable seed packs to 50.

  • Planted 50 fruit trees.

  • Made one rain harvest tank.
